Rusty Fridge No More
Our camper fridge and freezer cool well enough. However, it had some seriously rusty stains that grossed me out.
I pulled the racks and drawer out and soaked them for several hours in a bath of baking soda and vinegar to help loosen up any grease and debri.
After giving them a good scrubbing with a wire brush my tub was thoroughly disgusting.
After they were completely dry I coated the racks with spray on Plasti Dip. I’m not a patient person so waiting 4 hours between coats to flip and repeat was not a fun process. I ended up putting 2 coats on each side.
While I waited for the racks to dry I took to the plastic interior of the fridge and freezer with Lime-A-Way and an old toothbrush. It didn’t remove everything but is a very noticeable difference.
The end result is not too shabby considering buying new racks would have cost between $18 and $26 each.
